It was an absolute joy being a part of Makenna and Shane’s big day/fifth date (hehe). Witnessing their love for each other was an honor, but not just that, it was witnessing the love of their families that brought tears to my eyes.
What a fun day filled with so much love, laughter, a lot of groomsmen, and the best family wedding tradition I’ve ever seen – a bride and groom ROAST! Members of the bride’s family took turns getting up and roasting the bride and groom, individually and as a couple. Seriously – some of the tears I mentioned earlier were definitely from laughing so hard. I love that they appreciate the big day, but don’t take things too seriously.
This gorgeous late summer outdoor wedding at the bride’s family home built on faith and love was mirrored in the beautiful ceremony and reception, and watching the two families come together with open arms and loving hearts was truly wonderful.
My favorite part of the day was without a doubt the smiles on the faces of Makenna and Shane – just the purest form of joy simply being in each other’s presence.
My heart is bursting for these two and am so glad I could be a part of such a special day.
